Parts for Audi A8
I once had a 1996 Audi A8 Quattro 4.2l for which I
accumulated the usual bits and pieces in the firm intention
of doing something about some minor niggles. The A8 is
famous/notorious for a somewhat harsh ride quality, and
early cars suffered from a very irritating knocking noise
from the front suspension even with low mileage. My car had
some wear in the suspension links, and so I got these new
link arms listed below. I first bought second hand front
upper "wishbones" and fitted them to the car,
which improved matters but did not completely eliminate the
knock. I then bought the new link arms seen below, but
never got around to fitting them. Same story with the brake
discs.

Gearbox Multi-Function Switch:
If your gearbox occasionally puts you in "Limp
Home" mode, your multifunction switch may be faulty.
At least that is what the Audi diagnostics will tell you. |

Front Brake Discs:
I thought about uprating the front discs to S8 standard,
then lost enthusiasm. These discs will not fit the early
4.2 Quattro which I had without modification. The discs are
360mm diameter (as far as I remember the standard discs are
320mm or so). I understand these fit the 2002-on A8 Quattro
with the 4E Chassis, and the VW Phaeton. Please check out the part numbers shown on the
packaging. |
